Prone positioning (PP) is becoming an important treatment modality for the management of COVID-19 related respiratory distress syndrome. The aim of this scoping review was to evaluate effectiveness and safety of awake PP in non-intubated patients with COVID-19 related acute respiratory distress at different care settings. The study was conducted during December 1, 2019 to August 30, 2020 using health science electronic databases and grey literature. A PRISMA flow diagram was used and finally 06 studies with 187 patients were included for review. Male patients were predominating with the mean age of approximately 55 years. Oxygenation was improved in 79.14% patients. One hundred fifty seven (83.95%) patients with COVID-19-related hypoxemic respiratory distress tolerated the procedure. Intubations required 25.41% of the patients or mechanical ventilation and 6(3.2%) patients expired. Number of patients in the reported studies could tolerate more than 3 hours of PP without a major side effect. Awake proning improved oxygenation of the patients suffering from COVID-19 related respiratory hypoxia in different care settings. Early instituted prone positioning may be an effective alternative method of treating COVID-19 related respiratory distress. Patient compliance and small size cohort studies are the limitations of this review. Multicenter controlled studies are warranted before conclusions are made about safety and the settings.

As the latest pandemic spreads, the world's governing bodies have been forced to impose strict social distancing measures. This has impacted businesses and manufacturing industries worldwide, including Bangladesh's RMG sector. To aid in the rapid spread of this infectious disease, this paper illustrates a simulation of an IoT system centered on wristbands specifically designed to detect early symptoms of COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2). The system, which includes a facemask detection system and a thermal camera, identifies potential employees who may be at risk of contracting the COVID-19 virus. We simulated the wristband system using a simulation software in order to conduct a few test cases to ensure its feasibility. The wristbands' results were largely consistent with expectations, demonstrating their ability to monitor a wearer's vitals throughout the day. When combined with an attendance system and a face mask detection system, the wristband system enables a workplace to track its employees and detect possible infected workers. © 2021 IEEE.

RESUMO

COVID-19 pandemic brings significant number of post-acute and chronic disabilities requiring attention to Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) services. Total Health and Rehabilitation sector in Bangladesh is overwhelmed; patient care and academic activities are seriously impacted by this pandemic. Rehabilitation team works and academic calendar is disrupted. Bangladesh PMR working to manage COVID-19 imposed rehabilitation challenges with adjustment and adaptations of the existing facilities. There is an urgent need to undertake additional measures promptly, including rehabilitation capacity building anticipating the potential challenge that would be faced by the hospitals in the estimated upsurge of COVID-19 cases and its complications thereafter. This topic highlights the activity log for COVID-19 preparedness and mitigation for rehabilitation services in Bangladesh with a message for other rehabilitation settings in the world.
